After a little more thought I realized that the space au as it currently stands is mostly aesthetics and a collection of fun tropes but what story there is, maps too closely onto canon to really be interesting to write. I guess most setting-change aus hardly have any plot other than the couple getting together, but I'd rather not have that be the case here. So back to the drawing board with this one for a while.
