Bookbinding Roundup

It's been a while since I posted any bookbinding photos here! I keep feeling like I'm not getting as many projects done as I'd like, but looking back, I've made a pretty decent number this past year. I'm not going to post full writeups or full photosets here, but brief descriptions + one photo each under the cut, and links to their tumblr posts if you'd like to read more details.

Are You OK? -- I bound this webnovel as a box set of slim stab-bound volumes

Salvage -- I didn't do the typesetting so I went harder on the cover


For my birthday I got a folding light tent for taking book photos -- I used it on the most recent book. It's a little smaller than I expected so I may eventually take the LED ring from it and build into a larger box. For now, with a little photoshop around the edges it's fine.

These are ridiculously pretty! I really like how they're all distinctive and related to the novel/fic. :')

Design inspiration is a big part of how I decide what to bind in the first place, honestly. A fic that I like a little bit less might win out over a favorite if I can think of something really cool to do with the binding.

Very cool! I think the "Salvage" cover might be my favorite, and "An Internal Affair" (though I might be slightly biased because I really enjoyed both those fics.)

Thank you! An Internal Affair was my introduction to both the fandom and ship--the author had contacted me about a commission, and I had assumed they'd want me to bind one of their MDZS fics. I really enjoyed the fic and if I ever read more in the fandom, the fact that my intro was a role reversal fic is probably going to come back to bite me lol
